Erebus

This is my first game that I made with Game Maker 2 as part of my game production assignment. The game aesthetic is inspired by middle east culture. The game is centered on an original character that I created, Erebus. The game takes places when Erebus is trying to escape from captivity. You must help him to sneak past or eliminate the sentries to get out of the palace. The story interlinks with a few of my friends' character's story.

Here's a little back story of Erebus:

Abducted to a faraway land by a syndicate of mysterious men and separated from his family, EREBUS was brutally experimented on, along with several other forcefully acquired specimen. Although lucky enough to be the only survivor, majority of EREBUS’s memory is wiped by some form of mysterious magic. The only surviving memory is the moment of transformation into the living weapon he has become. ‘Reborn’ into a dangerous individual, he now serves as one of the most successful assassins as well as a personal bodyguard.

He starts to have flashbacks of his previous life. Wanting to know more, he escapes from his master. Not knowing of his master’s enragement, he sent out people to get EREBUS back.  While hiding and laying low from his pursuers, EREBUS winds up in a foreign tavern in a small village outside of the city. A mysterious individual dressed in dazzling silks and gems captures his attention on stage. Entranced by his performance, the two get to know each other and set off on their way together, all the while, running into a multitude of other strange characters who they also recruit into their travelling team of misfits and runaways.
